ABOUT US
Who the hell are we? Oh boy, lets see if I can sum us up real quick here.
So when I was born–
KIDDING.
WINDY & WALLFLOWER is an independent micro-press run by two queers in the middle of Tiohtià:ke (or Montréal), specialising in pulp fiction, sci fi, fantasy featuring disastrous queers.
We’re also working on redefining mediums and storytelling art forms–
And we’re pretty fucking good at designing funky little objects you can wear, accessorise or decorate with (or, at least we have a lot of FUN designing those types of things).
(We also strive to produce our stuff all within Canada. Most of our stock is created locally, including books, patches, keychains and tote bags.)
Wait, WHY the name?
Our usernames used to be WindyFlamingo & TheJokingWallflower at the time we met, and by the time we decided to (finally) commit to working together and collaborating on our stories and creating this small micro-press of all our brain worms.
ANYWAY. Who runs this joint?
WINDY (aka TAS)
TAS was originally a music major before making the full pivot into comics when they started The Sanity Circus. They’re originally from Alberta, Canada, home to (one of) the most well known dinosaur museums around: The Royal Tyrrell. Tas has been brought up and enamoured not just by the animations they watched growing up and comics they devoured but by a lot of the natural world around them and that includes most especially the prehistoric world. It was only natural for it to bleed into their work!
WALLFLOWER (aka WINTER)
WINTER was poised to fall into animation with their bachelors but found that their one-true-love of publishing was the siren song that pulled them into comics. Montréal has always been amazing for printing so self-publishing was the cure to publishing’s long waits and quick ‘no thank you’s. They just can’t stop themself from writing; turning anything they can get their hands on into some sort of story and pulling Tas down the rabbit hole with them. Their particular interest in Greek Mythology shouldn’t be too huge a surprise, it’s in their name.
What are you still doing here? There’s a whole website of fun little reads and doodads to check out so get checkin!
