March Newsletter — Cool Books on Pre-Order!

Hey hey! I’m a tiny bit late for this newsletter, but I used to do this all the time so that’s fine, right? Anyway, March was super busy and chalk full of travel and all the fun frustrations that come with that, so I’m looking forward to April being a little more chill (juuust a little bit more, we still have Calgary Expo at the end of it, but shhh.)

Anyways! I have a couple updates for all of you regarding our books! Yes we got books happening and I frankly, couldn’t be happier about that.

AUGUSTINE VOLUME 2

Finally. This has been pretty much ready since we finished chapter 2 last year, but then we just couldn’t justify the money to print it as lots of other things were desperately urgent all of a sudden. But now, finally, and thanks to the lovely furry cons we attended, we can print chapter 2!

The print order is already in, and expected to arrive in April! HOWEVER you sure can pre-order it right now, or even just get the PDF!

Grab it on our shop right here!

FANGS AND ALL

I’m also happy to announce that my graphic novel is also coming out this year, and I have a cover, date and previews to share with you all!

Fangs and All is a YA graphic novel following Sam as she visits her girlfriend, Boots, and her family… who turn out to all be monsters!

The book is coming out October 6th! But it’s available for pre-order right now. Since this book is being published by Penguin, it’s not on our shop yet, but you can get it pretty much anywhere books are sold! Here’s a handy link for Canadians, and one here for Americans, to help you out!

Pre-orders are super important for book sales, so if this book strikes your fancy, please consider pre-ordering it! I’ll owe you my life, or something like that.

Here’s some proofs I got for it the other day, too. Ooogh, I can’t WAIT to have this as a physical book, it’s killing meeeee.

October 6 can’t come fast enough!

UPCOMING KICKSTARTER PLANS

As we finally finish off the very last of the dinosaur card Kickstarter, after a few delays that threw us off, we’re already thinking of jumping into our first campaign of 2026. This doesn’t come lightly, obviously, after what happened last year–but we finally feel stable enough to try this again, now armed with more knowledge in how to deal with tariff bullshit.

Our next Kickstarter is likely going to be blanket themed! We’re making more blanket designs, and reprinting favourites. We’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, and now it all feels right. We’ll have a page up and running very soon to follow–we’re aiming to launch it sometime in May.

For now, here’s a little teaser of one of the new designs I’m working on:

CONVENTIONS

It was wild doing two back-to-back, large conventions so early in the year. Usually Calgary Expo is our first big con of the year, so it’s left us rearing to go already! Here’s our upcoming lineup:

Calgary Expo – Calgary, AB // April 23-26
FBDMCAF – Montréal, QC // May 15-17
Montreal ComicCon – Montréal, QC // July 3-5
PCAF – Winnipeg, MB // September 5-6

PCAF is probably the newest one here, and it’ll be our first time in Winnipeg! That’s pretty exciting!

OTHER NEWS

Let’s end this with some other thoughts and plans the two of us have been mulling over…

First off, we have plans to eventually migrate our newsletters off of Mail Chimp. It’s worked well for us, but as we continue to grow, the more I feel it’s not exactly the best fit for our newsletter. We’ll likely be switching to just Square, which we’ve used for our marketing emails before. Rest assured when the move happens I’ll talk more about it and what to expect–hopefully it’ll go smoothly and in the end, not much will change. But that’s something I’m definitely looking into happening for this year.

Second, we’ve been heavily discussing what merch items W&W wants to continue to produce. This is a tough topic–ultimately we’d love to just make books forever and ever, but books are not our main sellers, as much as we’d love them to be. A lot of the merch we make is what gets us the money to print our books. And–don’t get me wrong–I love our merch, there’s always a ton of thought and love put into every design we do. In the end it comes down to what we really want to keep putting out, however, for both us as people and also us as a… (shudder) brand. Okay, I don’t mean to feel too icky saying that, because I guess it’s true–we are, in a sense, a brand, but a brand that reflects what me and my partner do and love, and that’s not so bad, in the end.

What I’m saying here is that we’re going to be refocusing some of our merch. Some of it has already started, we’ve been paring down our pins, after our big clearance sale, and after this year we’re hoping a lot of them will be gone for good. We’re pretty much out of our dino loaf plushies, and although they were a fun experiment and something I had been wanting to try for a while, we’re not likely bringing them back. (Keep an eye out, we’ll be putting up the last ones we have on the shop soon.) We always strive as much as we can to make our stuff local, or at least national, in Canada. That isn’t always feasible, but it’s something we still want to focus on the most as we move forward.

Thanks as always for trusting us and supporting us. It means the world–it really does!

Here’s hoping, if you live in the northern hemisphere, that winter is finally backing down–and if not, well, soon? Maybe?

Cheers,
W&W
