June-July Newsletter – Now What?

Hey! Well, here we are, in the thick of the summertime here. We’ve gone through one heatwave and there’s already more to come! Oh boy! And for once… our summer is actually looking very clear. This is both freeing, but also a little bit terrifying. Let’s get into it and what the rest of the year is looking like for us…

CONVENTIONS

Usually this part goes at the end, but I’m starting off with it because, frankly… we don’t have any conventions lined up. At least not for a while. We’ve applied to a handful of local ones, and there’s always the holiday cons at the end of the year. But for now, as we just finish Montreal Comiccon… our July and August are empty. We were waitlisted for Otakuthon (what’s new), and ended up cancelling our plans for PCAF in September due to travel issues. Turns out we got into Gouttière again, but that still leaves the rest of our summer pretty empty!

So like… this is weird. For us. I don’t think I’ve had a free summer in… years? What do I even do about it?! As much as this frees up time for us to work on things, it’s also a little scary, as conventions earn us our living. But we’re all struggling this year–oof, that economy, I can feel it. Conventions sales are quite a bit down this year. It’s rough for everyone.

In the end we’ll be alright. Maybe we’ll have some new books by the end of this. Or maybe we’ll take a nice big summer break. I dunno! We’ll figure it out!

BLANKETS

In regards to our latest Kickstarter, everything is underway! We’ve ordered the King’s Grave and Cambrian Lullaby blankets, and juuust put in the order for the other new ones after receiving the prototypes for them. Here they are!

Both of them turned out absolutely gorgeous. With that, everything for the Kickstarter is ordered and in production. We should hopefully be getting some stuff to start shipping by early August. Yay!!

For backers–we’ll be sending out the surveys very soon! We like to wait until we’re close to shipment, to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible!

SHOP SALE

Now that our summer is clear, we’re gonna be spending some more time tidying up our online store. While we do that, we’re also running a permanent sale on our last call items! This includes mostly our old pins, which we’d love to clear out! All of these items won’t be restocked when they’re gone, so get them now if you want them!

I’m ending this newsletter with another reminder for my BOOK!! A whole new graphic novel coming out in just four months. I’m super excited for this and want people to read it so bad it’s KILLING ME! Soon, you will all get to follow Sam as she confidently believes she can win over her girlfriend’s family, and, well….

…She’s fiiiine. It’s fine! She’ll be fine!
